Welcome to
The Roanoke-New River Valley Company
The Roanoke-New River Valley Company provides members who cannot attend national meetings the pleasure of association with other Society members and of participating in activities that are central to Society membership. Our membership comes from Southwest Virginia and the urban settings of Bristol, Blacksburg, Salem, and Roanoke. We enjoy fellowship, programs, and the opportunity of being part of all the projects of the National Society.
Our Company has each year since our founding made a significant contribution to the Wingo Fund for Restoration of Courthouse Records - one of the primary objectives of the Jamestowne Society. Perhaps our most significant facet has been our comradeship when we have enjoyed becoming friends with other members like ourselves who enjoy Jamestowne Society membership whether or not we are able to attend National Society meetings.
Our total area is Alleghany, Bland, Botetourt, Buchanan, Carroll, Craig, Dickenson, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Lee, Montgomery, Pulaski, Roanoke, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, and Wythe. This total of 21 counties, 3 encompassing areas on both sides of I-81 in the far Southwest, outlines our primary membership emphasis. Note the map below.
